Christmas in Utah

After Hawaii we flew to Utah where we spent Christmas with the Olsen's. It snowed and snowed and snowed Christmas morning and pretty much the rest of the time we were in Utah. It was Sadie's first Christmas and it was a white one. Not sure she loved being out in it all too  much.

Catching up with our good ol' pals the Nelson's. We cant wait for baby Covey to come!

Love Birds
Classic Christmas pj's.
Mark's mom made all of these! Can you believe it? Even Sadie and new baby Kezia had a pair.

Sadie loved the madness of her first Christmas morning.

New Years Bash

Mark's sister Kristi made these star costumes for Sadie and Kezia for the Christmas eve program. I think they kind of look like bananas.
Even though Sadie fell asleep during the Nativity part she was still the star. She is sound asleep in this picture

Sadie has always been very into theater, and she shined radiantly.

The open bar at the 6th annual Christmas eve after-party... complete with a creepy bartender.

It was easy to find someone to take this picture of us... literally everyone in the world was at park city that day.

Sadie Jean I love you so

So, I usually write this kind of stuff in Sadie's journal, but she just turned one so here ya go...

I can't believe my little baby is 1! I feel so blessed to be her mom. She makes me so incredibly happy; I just can't even explain. Some times when she is asleep I just think of her and I get teary-eyed because she makes me so happy and I think how blessed I am to be her mom. Lately she has been acting so grown up. It's funny how early her motherly instincts have kicked in. She has a couple baby dolls that she just LOVES. I mean, she gets so excited when she sees them in the morning. She picks them up and kisses them and pats them on the back. It's crazy and so cute. For her birthday we got her a stroller for her babies and I swear she is going to wear that thing out. We took it to the mall with us today and she pushed it around everywhere. Sadie is now saying 3 words, momma, dada and duck. She talks a lot in this crazy talk where she uses her tongue a lot. She pushes her tongue out when she talks. It's strange, funny and very cute. For Christmas she got a baby signing time DVD and she now knows several of the signs- baby, banana, more, all done, fish, dog, and eat/food. When ever I say anything that has to do with food like breakfast, lunch, dinner she smacks her lips. Sadie has also been very loving lately. She will just come up to me and give me a hug, pat me on the back or lay her head on me. I just love it. It's amazing how much trust and love she has for me. It makes me really want to be a better mom and example to her. Now that Sadie walks she explores everything. At the mall today we were in a store and she saw a mom pushing a stroller and she ran over the the stroller and was trying so hard to see inside. She is so curious of everything. Sadie also loves to dance when music comes on. She has started really loving putting things inside of other things and then taking them out again. She also loves to read books. She sits by her self sometimes and turns the pages and jabbers on about the story. She really thinks she is reading them. Some of her favorite books are:
Goodnight Moon (we read it over and over and over)
Babies
My go-to-bed book
Bright baby books (she loves to look at the pictures and do the signs for them) Smile-A-saurous: A book about feelings- it has googly eyes that she loves
any book with dogs in it-she has an obsession with dogs.
When ever she sees dogs she starts like panting and making these weird noises and tries to attack them. The mall that we went to today is a dog-friendly mall and she just wanted to stop every dog going by and become their best friend. Sadie also gets so excited when she sees other kids; she loves to play with kids. Luckily we live by A LOT of kids. I can't wait for warmer weather to come so she can play outside. She is having a hard time being cooped up all day. Sadie now has 8 cute little teeth that we try to brush but it is quite the ordeal. We have to pin her on the ground and try our hardest to open her mouth. She now weighs about 18 big ones. Her hair still very sparse. Well I could go on and on and on but I will just end and say I LOVE you Sadie. Please don't grow too quickly. Thanks. Love, Mommy

I tried to take some pictures of her in her birthday outfit. But man, one-year-olds are hard. I think I will have to just try a couple one day and then a couple the next. We shall see.

Happy Birthday, Sadie!

Here's to the sweetest one-year-old we know... (and also the cutest, silliest, happiest, busiest, loving-est, and sometimes dirtiest). Happy birthday, sweetie! We love you!

A few more

I caught Sadie smiling. It's really hard to do these days. She usually turns her head when she sees my camera.

Hawaii fun

We took way too many pics on our trip, so here are just a few. We had such a great time. Thanks Hayley for getting married in Hawaii. So getting there from the east coast is no easy jaunt. It was about an hour and half to Atlanta and then 9 whole hours to Honolulu.  9!!!!! With Sadie! She was actually really good but very antsy. We did a lot of walking up and down the aisles.

For all you LOST lovers out there like ourselves we saw this young man at Ted's Bakery on the north shore.  To our biggest regret we did not get a picture of him, however we did run into the Lost special effects crew and got some pictures of them doing some photo shoot of sorts. Not sure who it is or what is going on but keep your eyes out for this crazy red dress and remember that we saw it first. He he.. We got a little hyped so we went on a hunt for LOST filming sites. Nick, Courtney, Mark and I found the beach we believe to be the filming site. Remember we love celebrities.

Help! This sand stuff hurts.

Sadie wanted nothing to do with the sand when we first got there, but by the end of the trip she warmed up to it. Long time no sand. Who knows... maybe we are raising a wimp.
