In Februrary we took a quick day trip up to Bastogne, Belgium to see the sights. Obviously this is a city of grand historical importance. General Patton, a siege, Battle of the Bulge, and Airborns, infantries, Panzers, and other historical figures all played some sort of major role here, of course. Sorry, history buffs, you'll have to get on Wikipedia to piece it all together. As you could have guessed by now, history is not our forte... but boy, do we love our country! So, off to Bastogne we went, also enjoying the company of good friends and good food.
The Washington-esque feel of the monument had us feeling right at home.
The good pals, all freezing together.
The cool cats
Not much to do at a monument... Make your own fun.
Checking out the creepy crypts with dad.
