Spring Break

Mark got the week off for Spring Break so we decided to take advatage of the time and go to San Diego to visit family. We decided to bless Sadie in the ward I grew up in. We did this so that all of my family could be there and Mark's family could drive down from Utah to come. It made a lot more sense that Mark, Sadie and I flew out than fly out tons of people to Virginia. It was a great week but of course the highlight was Sadie's blessing. It was so very beautiful. I'm so grateful to be Sadie's mommy. She is the sweetest little thing and she has brought so much joy and love into my life. I am just so in love with my little family. So fun!!! Sadie's blessing dress is the dress that I was blessed in. Interesting story.... Before my family's house burned down my mom randomly sent me the dress. I'm so excited that it was saved and Sadie was able to blessed in it. I want to take some more pictures of her in the dress so you can see more detail. I'll try to get that done this week. It was such a busy day I didn't really capture too many pictures of just her in the dress. Sadie was very popular among all her aunts and uncles. 18, to be exact, and 3 cousins. They were not all there of course but there was a good amount.

On Sunday after Sadie's blessing party we all headed to my family's property. In October the house that I grew up in was a victim to the 2007 Southern California fires. I had not yet seen the property; only pictures. So it was good to finally see it. It was really crazy driving up to it. The property is all graded off and ready to build a new house. I'm so excited for the new house. It's going to be a good one.

This is where the house used to be. That is where my family is going to stay while the house is being built. They are at a friend's house right now.

This rock was always my favorite place to go and sit and relax and enjoy the veiw. I'm glad the veiw is still there. There used to be 100's of avocado trees but they all burned as well.
We spent a lot of time at the beach. It was Sadie's first beach trip and I'm not sure she enjoyed it too much. Too sunny, windy, chilly and sandy. All these things don't fare too well with a 7-week-old.

Good old game of Bocce Ball

The ward I grew up in threw me an awesome surprise baby shower. I had no idea that anything was going on. Completely surprised!

Mark's brother and sister and their spouses went on a cruise that left from San Diego. So when they were done cruisin' we went and picked them up and spent the day with them. More beach. It was a lot of fun.

Three men and a baby!

Uncle Nick's swim meet

It was such a fun week. Sooooooooo good to see family again.
